Nail Procedure Home Instructions
1. Keep your bandages intact until tomorrow morning. Then remove the bandages and shower and clean the procedure site.
2. Using a clean bucket, dilute 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt in warm water. The water does not have to be hot. ( Epsom Salt can be purchased from any local pharmac i es)
3. Soak the affected foot for about 5-10 minutes. After soaking, pat your foot dry with a clean towel and then cover with a Band-aide.
4. It is very important to leave the toe open to “air-out” for a few hours every day. This is generally done in the evenings. It is also very important to keep the toe covered with a Band-Aid whenever you are wearing shoes, as this will help prevent infection.
5. Be sure to continue soaking the affected foot until all drainage has stopped. This may take several days following the procedure.
Please be advised, if you have had a complete or partial permanent toenail removal, it is normal to have some pain and redness after the procedure. It is also normal to have clear drainage and some bleeding for 2 to 3 days after the procedure.
